Welcome to the Technology department at St George’s R.C. High School

The department is a Lead Department within the authority. It also is linked to the Salford CLC network as a centre for technology and CAD/CAM.

Location

The three rooms are located next to the entrance hall and consist of specialist rooms for TE1 Resistant materials, TE2 Graphic Products and Control and a new TE3 Food Technology room. There is a CAD/CAM area outside these rooms also a separate Textiles room and CLC Computer room.

Resources

The department is well resourced in both tools and equipment. There are several new machines within the department including two Laser cutters and three Routers. All rooms have interactive white boards and computer access.

Programmes of study  

Key Stage 3

Pupils follow a twelve week course in Resistant Materials, Food Technology and Graphics and Control. In food technology they take part in the government scheme License to Cook.

Key Stage 4

Pupils must take a technology and are offered AQA Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, Food Technology and Textile Technology. There are also links to college courses and Balfour Beatty.
